- Economical, low silver alloy
- Designed to broaden the melting range of Harris® 0
- Proven to be useful in some specific applications where mechanical properties are less critical
- Medium-range alloy for brazing copper, and copper-to-brass
- Brazing range of 1300oF - 1500oF (704oC - 816oC)
- Recommended joint clearance of 0.003 in. - 0.005 in. (0.08 mm - 0.13 mm)
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to the copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Stay-Silv® 2, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
- Flux not required for copper brazing as it is self-fluxing. For brazing brass or copper-to-brass Stay-Silv® white flux is suitable for most applications. Harris Eco Smart® boric acid free flux, powder or paste, is an excellent choice to promote sound brazed assemblies
- Conforms to AWS A5.8 BCuP 6 & ASME Section II C SFA 5.8 BCuP-6
